LNG Terminal: handover of the construction site to the contractor for Stage I of the Expansion Program

Polskie LNG handed over part of the site of the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście to the contractor for mobilisation of the construction site backup facilities in the SCV Project. Despite the COVID pandemic, the deadline for Stage I of the expansion remains unaltered - the planned completion date is December 2021.

Stage I of the LNG Terminal Expansion Program in Świnoujście (SCV Project) includes the design and installation of two additional LNG regasification units and cryogenic pumps. The purpose of the investment is expanding the functionalities and technical capacity of the facility, including in particular the achievement of the regasification capacity of 7.5 billion m3 of gas per year.
The equipment was ordered by Polskie LNG in October and November 2019, as part of investor deliveries. The SCV Project contractor was selected and the contract with the consortium of PORR and TGE was signed in February 2020.
Polskie LNG obtained all legally required decisions necessary to execute the construction works. The works are carried out as per the assumed schedule - the investment completion date is December 2021.

- Handing over the site to the contractor is an important phase proceeding the construction work on the terminal begins. According to the investment schedule, work on the foundations for additional SCVs will start in autumn this year - said Krzysztof Jackowski, Vice President of Polskie LNG and GAZ-SYSTEM.
The expansion of the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście is included in financing under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020, PRIORITY: VII, MEASURE: 7.1 under the project: “Expansion of the functionalities of the LNG terminal in Świnoujście”.
